History of Quattro Assi

Since 1973, Wm. Lewis Imports has been a fixture on the American bicycle racing scene. Throughout the years the company has been involved in the sponsorship of many notable riders, including Jeff Pierce, Chris Carmichael, Thurlow Rodgers, John Eustice, Steve Bauer, and Wayne and Dale Stetina.

Pro Teams that have ridden Quattro Assi bikes include Nutra Fig, Go Mart, and Zaxby's (pictured below). The riders on these teams tested their bikes daily on the demanding U.S. Pro circuit, and took many top prizes in the process. Also worth mentioning is the 1994 Shaklee pro team, which included the Carney brothers, Kent Bostick, Rebecca Twigg, and 1994 U.S. Champion Esteban Fraga. Wm. Lewis Imports is proud to have supported these teams.

Many current professional riders have also gotten their start with WM. Lewis Imports. Chann McRae won his first stars and stripes jersey on a Tommasini provided by Wm. Lewis, which which led to his pro career and current US Pro title. Other current pro riders whose careers have involved Wm. Lewis are Levi Leipheimer, Tony Cruz, John Leiswyn, Matt DeCanio, Burk Swindlehurst, Mike Sayers, Scottie Weiss, and Jon Hamblin.

ABC-Aitos TEAM 2002 AND 2003 is a team based in Belgium that allows talented young American riders to compete in Europe. The riders gain experience in all forms of racing, from the local kermesses to UCI rated races, where they race with larger professional teams. In 2002, the team put their Quattro Assi bicycles to the ultimate test - the notorius Belgian cobblestones.
